Returning to the nest

This was a welcome home / birthday cake for two lovely ladies. The brief was 'something simple, colours that aren't too bright with stylised birds. And of course, you can't go past chocolate".

So this is was the finished product; round chocolate mud cake, covered in fondant & handmade sugar paste stylised nesting birds with crystal tail feathers. All but the crystals was edible, including the little chocolate nest.
